Sokhna Port is the first Egyptian to have taken up the task that was interrupted by the protests against the government in recent days that follow one another in the African nation. The announcement was made today to the group DP World of Dubai, which operates the container terminal of the airport in Egypt.
"DP World Sokha, after a brief suspension - said the CEO of the Egyptian subsidiary of the group, Ossama Al Sharif - has taken over all its activities including those of customs, quality control, port authority and security." Al Sharif has therefore urged all users of the port to replenish their activities.
Meanwhile, the Suez Canal Authority announced today that the activities of the Suez Canal continued regularly with the transit of 47 ships, including 25 southbound and 22 north.
