The premise of the proposed new structure of the port functions is that the existing port areas are organized into promiscuous mode and messy and that is necessary for this specialized areas depending on the type of goods and traffic.In the explanatory memorandum on the new Port Master Plan presented by the head of the Port Authority, Claudio Vanni, and engineering design firm of Mark Tartaglini LWULT are, in detail, the new forecasts of the airport zoning.

The Port passengers and cruise passengers will continue to crowd the banks of the oldest part of the port closest to the center, or by berths and related areas, ranging from the north bank of the Elbe Quay Pier Carrara. Sintermar: the water surface will be widened at berth 24 of the Industrial Canal.
