The shipping group Stolt-Nielsen and logistical Ltd. (SNL) has acquired 70% of the share capital of the terminal operator Australian Marstel Terminals, which operates nine port terminals for liquid bulk cargo in Australia (in Altona, Bell Bay, Coode Island and Port Alma) and New Zealand (in Bluff, Gabador Street, Freemans Bay, Mount Maunganui and Wynyard precinct).
The founders of Marstel Terminals will hold the remaining 30% stake in the company, which will be renamed Stolthaven Australasia Pty. Ltd.
The Australian company's terminals have a total capacity of approximately 177,000 cubic meters with expansion programs for another 200,000 cubic meters to be implemented by 2014.
