Tomorrow to Genoa the intermediate seminary of the project will hold "Wind and Ports"



Tomorrow to Saint George Palace, center of the Harbour Authority of Genoa, will hold the intermediate seminary of the project "Wind and Ports" that the study of the wind with the final scope faces to supply, in a graphical format computer science usable, the appraisal statistics and the forecast of the wind attended in real time to mean (24-12 hours) and short term (about an hour) in all the zones of the five ports partner (Genoa, Savona, La Spezia, Livorno, Fortification) applying innovative methodologies and calculates that they allow to consider the fields of wind until a meaningful height in the cares of all the activities and harbour functions.

Draft of information, usables in the first instance from Authority Harbour and from Harbour offices, that they constitute the foundation that can afford to harbour agencies and operators more better to plan the operating activities and, more in particular, than to place in being all those actions of prevention times to characterize and to define the situations of risk and the more suitable solutions in the various cases to the aim of protecting safety and physical integrity of who it works and, at the same time, to assure the operativity (berthing of the ships; cargo and drainage goods; pre-emptive warnings of wind much attended fort to terminalisti conveyors//harbour technical services) and the efficiency of means and structures.

The scope of the project "Wind and Ports" is that of patrimonializzare the current scientific acquisitions in the field of the study of wind (DICAT - University of Genoa: Department of Engineering of the Constructions, Atmosphere, Territory and Department of Physical; Météo France) and specifically to orient them towards the harbour world, in order better protect safety and to assure the activities.

The main initiatives previewed from the project, that june 2012 has a duration of 36 months (1 July 2009 - 30), is the analysis of the current state of the "management wind" in every port partner, the analysis statistics of the speed and the direction of the wind in the ports, the study of the harbour territory for the installation of stations of survey and measure technologically advanced (sonic anemometers) and their mass in net, the measurements and their elaborations, the monitoring and the reworks of the data (simulation of the fields of wind in the harbour area, formulation of the algorithms and of the modellistica chain), until to arrive to the forecast and its accessible computer science graphical fruizione/for the benefit of Harbour Authorities, Harbours-office and operators.

The partner of the initiative front man is Harbour Authority of Genoa (), Harbour Authority of Livorno, University of Genoa - Department of Engineering of the Constructions, the Atmosphere and Territory (DICAT), Harbour Authority of Savona, Harbour Authority of and Chambre de Commerce ET of Industries de Fortification ET de the Haute-Corse.
