From the economic fallen back previewed regasification plant to Livorno on the territory for beyond 400 million euros



Today, in the within of the protocol of understanding which signed between OLT - Offshore LNG Tuscany and the Tuscany Region for the realization of a regasification plant to Livorno, are signed the agreement between the OLT, the Municipality of Pisa and the Province of Pisa for the reopening of the Incile Channel, a connection between the Arno and the Navicelli Channel, action to restore the navigability from the center of Pisa to the port of Livorno.

In occasion of signature OLT it has illustrated the economic benefits, social and environmental of the project for the regasification plant. The direct investments and indirect that the company will concentrate on the livornese territory will produce fallen back economic estimated, today, to beyond 400 million euros in next the twenty years of life of the system, that is in the temporal arc of the convention stipulated between the OLT and the Municipality of Livorno.

Such amount is correlated to activities that go from the management and maintenance of the terminal, to its surveillance, the directed occupation, passing through other services accessories and of environmental safeguard. In particular, for the management and maintenance of the terminal, activities for which OLT will make use of local companies, are previewed 360 million euros; ten million euro will be invested in other asset connected to the life-cycle of the system and 50 million euros for the surveillance of the terminal through a ship keeper. To this one will join to the service tugs for the berthing of metaniere to the terminal, with a contract that will presee the service of marine agency and pilotage for the 50 operations of allibo estimated for every year of activity with still falling back to define.

In terms of directed occupation, OLT will employ 20-25 people, of which already nine assumed in the area of Livorno, for the office to earth of the society. In terms of indirect occupation, instead, between contracts of service and contracts of contract, OLT will employ some 60-70 people through ECOS, the society of management of the terminal on board and office to earth, and some 27 people with the society Black Brothers for means to service of the terminal.

Ulterior fallen back economic on the territory E region Municipalities are constituted by the Internal Revenue in favor of local the territorial agencies ().

At last, in collaboration with the Consortium for the interuniversitario center of marine Biology and applied ecology (CIBM) of Livorno, OLT has set up a program of twenty-year monitoring that previews marine investigations, chemical-physical for a value of about 800 thousand euros per year for 20 years.
