In the first trimester 2012 Konecranes has recorded an increase of 4.6% of the new orders



The Finnish means producer of Konecranes raising clearly has archived item the first trimester of 2012 with a profit of 14,4 million euros on revenues for 474,0 million euros, with increments respective of 75.6% and 22.2% on the correspondent period last year. The operating result is piled to 24,0 million euros (+29.7%).

In the first three months of this year the Scandinavian group has confiscated new orders for a value of 534,6 million euros (+4.6%). The value of the orderbook on 31 March was of 1.078, 6 million euros regarding 956,6 million euros on March 31, 2011.

"The evolution of the first trimester - it has commented the president and managing director of Konecranes, Pekka Lundmark - has carried out in great part second our expectations. The question has been maintained on a good level and has been comforting to find a sure increase of the activity also in western Europe. The region of the Americas has continued to give good results, while the question in Asia-Appease has been approximately to the same level of the fourth trimester last year, but inferior regarding the first trimester of last year".

In the exercise anniversary 2011 Konecranes has totaled a profit clearly of 64,8 million euros, down of 17.1% regarding exercise 2010. The revenues are increased of 22.6% to 1.896, 4 million euros, while the operating profit is diminished of 5.0% to 106,8 million euros. In the 2011 group it has acquired new orders for 1,896, 1 million euros (+23.4%) and the value of the pocketbook orders on December 31, 2011 has been attested to 991,8 million euros (+31.2% regarding on December 31, 2010).

While in recent days the group has obtained from the Global American Terminal & Services Container an order for the 20 supply of Automated Stacking Cranes (ASC) of the ability to raising of 40 tons that will be delivered in great part in 2013 and that the American company will employ in own container terminal in the port of New York - New Jersey.

Moreover Konecranes has received an order for the supply of a crane to Goliath portal and two crane approximately that they will be used in a new ship yard under construction to Baku, on the Sea Caspian, in Azerbaijan. The order is emitted by Baku Shipyard, joint venture constituted by Is Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), by Offshore Keppel and Marine (KOM) and by Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC). The crane Goliath has an ability to raising of 300 tons and the cranes of 25 tons approximately each. The navalmeccanico plant will become operating at the end of 2013.
