DSM has developed with Samskip an innovative type of container with panels in composite



Dutch DSM has realized a new type of constructed intermodal container using panels in composite instead of the wrinkled ones in steel employed of customary. Three prototypes of new containers DSM HighQ™ from 45 ' pallets wide high cube are used experimentally with success for an entire year from the compatriot Samskip Multimodal, logistic shipowning society and that is involved in the development of the project from October 2009.

Samskip has emphasized that the weight of new the container is of 20% inferior regarding traditional the container constituted by wrinkled in steel. When the new containers are transported - it has evidenced the company -, thanks to their inferior tare and to their aerodynamic design, they afford a meaningful saving of the fuel consumption regarding the container in steel.
