At the end of the month Holding Grimaldi will inaugurate the new marine connection Augusta-Malta



The shipowning society Holding Grimaldi, guided by the president and managing director Aldo Grimaldi, than by the end last year is returned to manage directly the ships of the fleet being introduced the ship Audacity on the Augusta-Salerno-Augusta route ( on 5 November 2012), it has decided to be extended such trisettimanale marine line until Malta.

From next the 28 june, in fact, the Audacity will carry out also the Augusta-Malta-Augusta connection. The service previews departures from Augusta in the days of monday, Wednesday and friday to the hours 09:00 (with arrival after about five hours of navigation) and departures from Malta the monday and Wednesday to the hours 16:30 and the saturday to the hours 12:00.

"The new draft - Holding Grimaldi has explained - is born for Sicily from the analysis of the flows from and Malta that, particularly in the weekend, is concentrated mainly on the traffic fleeting that they wish to pass free time and amusement in some of the beautifulst seaside resorts of the sicilian and Maltese coast". Moreover "the initiative affords the optimization of the motor-ship Audacity already employed on the trisettimanale draft Augusta-Salerno-Augusta started on November 2012, being extended for the interested companies the "bridge goods" with the Salentine peninsula for the traffics from and for Sicily and today also Malta". In more, "the departures from Salerno will be able on the trip to constitute a valid alternative to the tourists towards the Sicily whom they wanted to avoid along distance in car on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria and a passage on the Strait of Messina with sun 12 hours of navigation with car to the continuation disembarking in the heart of the southern Sicily".

The Audacity has an ability to 2.500 linear meters of goods and has 67 cabins, 211 seats and 30 places camper van on board for capacity total of 500 people comprised the crew. The ship is equipped of cafeteria and self service, eats, piano bar, stores and games rooms.

"With this new line - Aldo Grimaldi has asserted - we consider of being able to give an answer concrete to the question of traffic fleeting between the two islands and to so optimize the operating ship for the best one and integrated management of the resources and the traffics from and for Malta the Sicily and the South Italy. Moreover the departures from Salerno will be able to contribute to decongest the traffic car on the freeways for the next summer holidays with a benefit in environmental terms and of comfort for the passengers who once again demonstrate the validity of the project of the Freeways of the Sea".
