Livorno will on 25 May celebrate the European Day of the Sea with a series of events in program from the 6



To Livorno the European Day of the Sea, the event promoted from the EU commission and instituted in 2007 in order to bring to light the fundamental role of the seas and the ports in the total ecosystem, will be celebrated by the 6 on 25 May next ones with a series of guided tours in literary port, competitions, photo exhibitions, theatre performances and laboratories ludico-didatti to us within a program proposed from the Harbour Authority with the Tuscany Region, to the Municipality and the Province of Livorno and other agencies and associations.

The 6 and 7 May will hold "Ships of May". The initiative, which reached by now its fourth edition, will afford to inferior hundreds of students of the high schools and averages to visit various endowed boats of the most modern technological instrumentations, all revolts to the protection of waters and the marine atmosphere in its complex. In contemporary near Mediterranean the Livorno Foundation Euro they will be organized photo exhibitions, laboratories and projections of films. In the course of the two days, from hours 15,30 to the 17,30, the citizenship will have the possibility to visit the port, the Old Fortress and the numerous boats that collaborate to the realization of "Ships of May".

On 20 May, from the 9,30 to the 13,30, the Old Fortress will make from background the award of the competition "Tells your port 2014" opened to all the schools that in the year in course have participated to the guided tours in port. Moreover to hours 16,00 the Paper of the Port Center will be signed Network with the International Association "Villes ET Ports", promotrice from more two-year-old of the Network of the Port Center. The paper characterizes a series of points to which the Port Center must inspire during the organization and the management of a laboratoriale structure of this genre. The Port Center of Livorno, that it will be not only the operating base inside of which will be elaborated and perfected all the regarding initiatives Opened Port, but also an exhibition structure and of acceptance will come moreover drafted an agreement of cooperation with the Province in support of constituting through which cards a new relation between port and city. The European day of the sea will be concluded to the 21, always in Old Fortress, with the theatre representation of show "Eight with", of Gabriele Benucci and Fabrizio Brandi (direction of Anna Dimaggio).

Moreover the 21 and 22 May, always in the within of the initiatives for the "European Day of the sea", will hold the second edition of the "Day Open" of the Aquarius of Livorno with which the structure also this year celebrates Saint Giulia, the patron of Livorno. The Aquarius will transform in an animated place of encounter and amusement thanks to the collaboration with the Association "the Port of the Little ones" Ngo. In the two days they will be available in Sala Panoramica of free the laboratories ludico-didatti to us for children and boys and a special theatre representation from the title "Giorgino and the submarine outpatients' department".

At last the 24 and 25 May the kermesse dedicated to the European Day of the Sea will be concluded in Old Fortress with three photo exhibitions: "Livorno, the old and new Port"; "Photographies in motion" and "Not only marble".
