the port of Rotterdam has archived item 2015 with an increment of +4.9% of the traffic thanks to +10.9% of the liquid bulk



In the 2015 traffic of the goods enlivened from the port of Rotterdam precedence is increased of +4.9% being is pairs to 466,4 million tons regarding 444,7 million tons in the year. The increase is generated mainly in the first two trimesters last year in which the traffic it has recorded an increment of +7.2% in first and of +6.4% in the second. In the second half of the year, to root cause of the contraction of the containerized trade more than compensated from a rise of the solid bulk volumes and from the prosecuzione of the increase - even if less consisting - of the volumes of the liquid bulk, the increase trend altogether has been attenuated attesting itself to +2,8% in the third trimester and +3,1% in the three next months.

Last year the containerized trade enlivened from the Dutch port has been of 126,2 million tons, down of the -1,1% on 2014. In terms of handling of containers from 20 ' the total has been pairs to 12.234.535 teu (- 0.5%). The other goods several has totaled an increment of +6.5% going up to 27,7 million tons, of which 22,0 million tons of rotabili (+10.1%) and 5,7 million conventional tons of goods (- 5.5%).

In the field of the solid bulk the traffic is piled to 87,7 million tons (- 1.0%), of which 33,9 million tons of iron mineral and it scrap (- 0.6%), 30,7 million tons of coal (+1.0%), 10,8 million tons of agricultural bulk (- 3.8%) and 12,3 million tons of other cargos (- 3.9%).

The volume total of the liquid bulk has been pairs to 224,6 million tons (+10.9%), of which 103,1 million tons of crude oil (+8.1%). With regard to the increase of the crude oil, the managing director of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, Allard Castelein, has explained that "the contained prices of the oil have determined high margins for the refineries, than so has received huge amounts of oil to refine. This - it has specified - has happened not only for the refineries in Europe, but also for those in Russia. These last ones - Castelein has remembered - produce a quantitative one relatively consisting of fuel oil that is transported towards the Far East via Rotterdam. This has determined an increase of +8% of the oil traffic crude oil and an increase of +18% of the oil produced ones". These last ones, in fact, have been pairs to 88,5 million tons regarding 75,0 million tons in 2014. In the section, moreover, tons of natural gas which liquified (+91.4% are enlivened 2,3 million) and 30,7 million tons of other liquid bulk (- 0.5%).

Altogether in the 2015 port of Rotterdam it has enlivened 327,6 million tons of goods in import (+3.9%) and 138,8 million tons of goods in export (+7.1%).

In the solo fourth trimester of the 2015 harbour port of call has enlivened 114,9 million tons of goods, with a progression of +3.1% regarding 111,4 million tons in the period October-December of the year precedence. The containerized cargos are diminished of -4,7% to the 30,3 million one tons. In increase of +5.4%, instead, the other goods several with a +6.3% of the rotabili (5,4 million tons) and a +2.0% of the goods conventional (1,4 million tons). The solid bulk is increased of +6.0% attesting itself 22,4 million to tons and an increment of +6.5% is marked by the liquid bulk that is gone up to 55,4 million tons.

The Harbour Authority of Rotterdam has specified that the objective for 2016 is to last year enliven a volume of analogous traffic to that.
