Confetra, the companies of the transport record a contraction of the turnover in spite of the increase of the traffic



The positive course of the traffic of the goods recorded in last year is continued in the first semester of 2016, but with some shadows that deserve a deepening. The analysis evidences that all the traffic increases: in particular, the transport on rubber has marked +3.1% in national within and +5.4% in the international one; the rail shipment is increased of +3.8%, while that airplane of +5.8%. Relatively to the marine transport the better result is recorded by the solid bulk with +11,5%, followed from the liquid refunded ones and the ro-ro with +4,9% and the container with enlivened +4,5% in terms of teu. The transhipment, with the single port of Gioia Tauro (Confetra it has specified that the data of Cagliari is not available), has marked +3.8%. Relatively to international shipments increments in all the sections have been recorded: sea +2.9%, airplane +2.3% and earthling (road and railroad) +2.1%.

The increase of the traffic found from the champion of the investigation is confirmed by highway data (+4.9%), from those airport (+5.8%), street passes (+4.2%), from those harbour (+4.5% teu; +4.9% liquid bulk; +11.5% solid bulk; +4.9% Ro-Ro).

Centro Studi Confetra has specified that, although the traffic good results, the majority of the enterprises consulted of all the fields declare an increase of the inferior turnover to the increase of the traffic and the spedizionieristico world quite complains a decrease of the turnover also in the presence of an increment of the number of shipments. For the street carriers the turnover is increased of in transport national +2.5% and in transport international +4.3%. For the shippers the turnover drops in all the sections: -2,4% in terrestrial shipments, -4,8 in air shipments and -2,1% in those marine ones.

In reality - the analysis observes - it is in existence in the field already over recent years a severe process of selection that expels from the market the enterprises more weak people and forces the others to reduce the operating margins considerably. It is well-known as the field of the road haulage has been lost weight in less two-year-old than 15.000 units (- 15%). For the international shipment enterprises the bending of the turnover is influenced also by the strong depression of the marine hires and airplane.

At last the analysis rimarca the continuous expansion of the traffic of courier (+7.2%) and the sensitive resumption of railway traffic (+3.8%), inside of which Trenitalia represents today about 60%, and concludes announcing that they get worse, even if little, the expectations of the operators for the second half of the year.
