The port of Antwerp gets ready to close the 2016 with a traffic record of beyond 214 million tons of goods, with an increment of +2.9% about regarding 2015 when the precedence was established record with 208,4 million tons enlivened from the Belgian port of call.

But to the record it has contributed also liquid the bulk volume never so elevated enlivened by the port of Antwerp that last year is piled to 69,6 million tons (+4.5%).

An increase of the traffic is found also in the field of the goods conventional where the total has been almost 10,0 million tons (+2.4%).

Instead the traffic of the rotabili is diminished, that it is come down of -1,9% to the 4,6 million one tons, and still more consisting has turned out the bending of the total volume of the solid bulk that is dropped of -9,8% to the 12,4 million one tons with reductions of the volumes of minerals, fertilizers and coal.

In the 2016 port it is climbed by 14.523 ships (+0.7%) for a total of 402,7 million tons of tonnage (+9.5%).

The total increase of the traffic of the goods marked in the entire 2016 is generated mainly in the first half of the year, with a first trimester in which period of the 2015 continuation is recorded an increase of +4.4% on the correspondent from according to trimester with a +2.9%. In the second half of this year the trend of rise of the traffic has shown an attenuation with a third trimester conclusosi with a +2.6% and a fourth trimester that archived item being with a traffic of about 52,7 million is about to tons, pairs to a +1.6% regarding 51,9 million tons in the period October-December of 2015.

If in the last trimester of the 2016 section of the container it has marked an increment of +5.5% of the traffic that is gone up to 29,3 million tons with a handling of containers pairs to 2,5 million teu (+4.7%), in all the other segments of traffic instead are found bendings of the volumes, with the liquid bulk you stop yourself to 16,5 million tons (- 2.0%), the solid bulk to 3,2 million tons (- 4.1%), the goods conventional to 2,5 million tons (- 7.4%) and the cargos ro-ro to 1,2 million tons (- 2.0%).
