In the first nine months of the 2017 total of the cargo on the ships that have crossed Suez it has grown of +9.8%



In the first nine months of the 2017 Suez Canal it is crossed by 12.934 ships, with an increment of +2.5% regarding 12.613 in the period January-september last year, of which 3,305 oil tankers (+2.4%) and 9,629 ships of other type (+2.6%).

The journeyed ships transported 667,8 million tons of goods (+9.8% altogether). Important the increase of boarded cargos on the ships journeyed in the direction north-south, that they are piled to 348,3 million tons (+18.9%), increase that is the produced one of nine consecutive months of increase to two figures. Modest, instead, the rise of the boarded cargo volume on the ships journeyed from south to north that has been attested 319,5 million to tons (+1.4% totally).

To evidence the determined contraction of the traffic in the direction north-south originated from the ports of the northern Mediterranean that, in controtendenza regarding the coming flows of traffic from other regions, has turned out down of the -1,1% in the first nine months of this year, bending that has been produced essentially in the third trimester with decreases that in the past months of July, August and september have been pairs respective to -22,6%, -22,7% and -25,9%. To signal, moreover, than vice versa the cargo volumes passed from Suez and directed towards the ports of the northern Mediterranean they have grown altogether of +21.5%, with emphasized increments in particular in freedoms of expression (+35.9%), May (+46.7%), june (+39.1%), August (+23.0%) and september (+22.1%).

Between the main boarded cargo volumes on the ships journeyed in the first nine months of the 2017 in the direction north-south, the cargos in container have been pairs to 174,2 million tons (+12.8%) to which tons, -0,4%), crude oil (25,1 million tons, +82.0%), fuels (22,0 million tons, +53.3%), minerals and metals follow cargos of cereals (33,7 million (21,7 million tons, +6.1%), fertilizers (7,7 million tons, +65.4%) and naphta (7,5 million tons, +5.2%).

More consisting the volumes than boarded cargos on the ships journeyed from south to north have been the containerized cargos (177,2 million tons, +1.2%) followed from crude oil (53,2 million tons, +1.8%), diesel oils (14,1 million tons, -6,7%), gasolines (12,7 million tons, -5,7%), natural gas which liquified (12,4 million tons, -12,4%), produced in metal (10,8 million tons, -15,2%), chemicals (8,9 million to tons, +9.8%), oils vegetables (7,9 million tons, +9.5%) and coal and coke (6,5 million tons, +50.5%).

In the single month of september of this year the channel Egyptian is crossed by 1.457 ships, with an increase of +3.6% regarding 1.406 in September 2016. The oil tankers have been 383 (+4.6%) and the ships of other type 1,074 (+3.3%). The journeyed ships altogether transported 76,3 million tons of goods (+10.7%), of which 39,0 million tons on the ships directed to south (+14.7%) and 37,3 million tons on those directing to north (+6.8%).
