First conference of a project in order to improve the intermodal connections between ports and airports of the Adriatic-ionic region



Tomorrow from hours 9,00 to 17,00 near the conference room "Green Hall" of the Business Area of the Airport of Bari "Karol Wojtyla" will carry out the first edition of the conference international "Intermodal Adriatic Passengers 2018" to which representatives institutional, operating harbour will participate/airport and stakeholders coming from Croatia, Greece and Italy. The initiative holds in the within of project INTER-PASS (Intermodal Passengers Connectivity between Ports and intermodal Airports/Connectivity of the passengers between ports and airports) financed from program INTERREG ADRION, with the involvement in quality of partner beneficiaries of Airports of Puglia Spa and of the Harbour Authority of System of Mare Adriatico Meridionale.

The project, the whose general objective it is that to improve the intermodal connections between the ports and the airports of the Adriatic-ionic region to the aim to improve the management of the flow of the passengers, above all crocieristi and travellers, that they reach tourist destinations situated on the coasts of the Adriatic and the Ionian one during the peak season, are started last January and the conclusion is previewed for December 2019. The budget total of INTER-PASS piles to 1,5 million euros, of which 85% it is co-financed through the European Fund for Regional Development (FESR) while remaining 15%, for the partner Italian, are assured by a financing of the State approved of with deliberation CIPE on January 28, 2015. Airports of Puglia and AdSP of Mare Adriatico Meridionale are only the two partner Italian beneficiaries, while associate partner is Venice Spa Passenger terminal. Six partner is then others coming beneficiaries from Croatia and Greece: Airport of Dubrovnik (partner front man), Harbour Authority of Dubrovnik, Airport of Pula, Harbour Authority of Pula, for Croatia, Istituto Tecnologico (TEI) of Epirus and Harbour Autorità of Corfù KNOWS, for Greece.

The conference tomorrow will be opened by the salutes of Frano Lueti ? (general manager of the Airport of Dubrovnik), Ugo Patroni Griffi (president of the Harbour Authority of System of Mare Adriatico Meridionale) and Antonio Vasile (vice-president of Airports of Puglia Spa), to which they will follow the participations of presentation of program ADRION (Lucia Calliari, representative of the Joint Secretariat) and project INTER-PASS (Hrvoje Spremi ?, project manager of the Airport of Dubrovnik).

After the opening session three round tables will hold. The first, from the title "intermodal Models of transport of the passengers", moderated by Mario Mega (Harbour Authority of System of Mare Adriatico Meridionale) and with the participations of Eugene di Sciascio (chancellor of the Polytechnic of Bari), Maro Saulovi? (manager of the Croatian society Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services) and Veronika Andrea (University of Ioannina), will supply panoramic of the local and total models of intermodal transport of the passengers, having estimated probable future progresses, the current state and the commercial question, local routes and an analysis on as the new technologies influence the intermodal models.

The second round table "New opportunities and challenges for advance intermodal models" will shortly focus on the challenges and the opportunities and long term and the their probable impact on the European routes. The participations will regard the impact of the increase of the automation, the developments of the IT and Internet of the things. In this case the moderator will be Nikitas Nikitakos (University of Aegeus), with the participations of Giuseppe Pirlo (University of Bari), Chrysostomos Stylios (University of Ioannina) and Michail Agathos (Harbour Authority of Corfù).

The third round table on the topic "regional Connectivity through intermodal models port-airport-port and the case cruises" will concentrate herself on as the new technologies will be able to create greater transparency, ability and profit in the Adriatic-ionic region. The round table will be moderated by Chrysostomos Stylios (University of Ioannina), with the participations of Anna Maria Morganti (Venice Passenger terminal Spa), Damir Vince (Airport of Zagreb) and Nikitas Nikitakos (University of Aegeus).

At last the conclusive session of the conference, moderated by Patrizio Summa (Airports of Apulia), will accommodate some relative cases of study to the intermodalità of the passengers. In particular the good practical of the Region Apulia (Raffaele Sforza) and of the port of Igoumenitsa will be illustrated (Maria Morfoulaki), the informative system JOYFUL PCS (Harbour Authority of System of Mare Adriatico Meridionale) and prototypes NMSW Arges (Exprivia Spa) and DSS Ismael (DBA LAB Spa).
