Fincantieri adjudicates a contract gives beyond 200 million for the lengthening of three ships of the Windstar Cruises



Fincantieri has undersigned with the crocieristica company Windstar Cruises of the group Xanterra Travel Collection a contract of the total value of beyond 200 million euros for an imposing slowly of lengthening and of modernization that it will see involved three ships of the fleet, and for whose financing is previewed the participation of SACE, the Italian agency of credit to the export.

The participations will interest the ships Breeze Star, Star Legend and Star Pride and will be all entirely realized from the function "Ship Repair & Conversion" near the Fincantieri plant of Palermo. The work will take start in the spring of 2019 with the beginning of the construction of first troncone of lengthening and they will be concluded within November 2020 with the delivery of the third and last unit, with a medium pause in yard of about four months for each ship.

The program, called "Plus Star", it previews on every unit three main phases of participation: the lengthening of about 26 meters, I almost renew total of the machinery and accommodations of drive system and at last the modernization of good public part of salt and the cabins.

The three ships object of the program currently have a length of 134 meters, a tonnage of about 10.000 tons and an ability to 212 passengers. Al term of the work every ship will be long about 160 meters, will have a tonnage of about 13.000 tons and will be able to accommodate 312 passengers.
