Approval of Confitarma for the presentation of a bill for the institution of the Ministry of the Sea



The Italian Confederation Shipping (Confitarma) express consent regarding the initiative of the senators Urged, Rauti, Balboni, De Blockheads, Zaffini, Fazzolari and Garnero Santanchè to introduce a bill of "Institution of the Ministry of the Sea" that it is assigned 1ª to the permanent Commission (Constitutional Transactions) of the Senate of the Republic. "It is a sign - the president of Confitarma has commented, Mario Mattioli - of renewed attention to the request for a long time supported from Confitarma, wishing that this can be an ulterior and useful cue of reflection with the government in order to value the marine system and its contribution to the economy of the Country".

"Shipping we, as - it has added Mattioli - we are always ready to answer with immediacy to the positive signs that reach from the institutions. Just today the reconstituted Committee returns to meet Rules and Competitiveness (organism formed from representatives of shipowning societies and administrations whose scope is to promote the simplification of the rules and the norms, ndr) that, in consideration of the particular classified attention to the modernization and the reforms to cost zero from the new government, it aimed to increase to the competitiveness of the mercantile fleet and all the cluster through the sburocratizzazione and the modernization of some norms of our marine ordering, in all or partially more not adapted to the truth of the current marine markets".

"The auspice - it has concluded Mattioli - is that in the 2019 it can be continued on this route of promotion of the strengths of a field as that marine one that can contribute more and more in important way to the economic development of our Country".

In the course of the today's reunion of the reconstituted Committee Rules and Competitiveness, that it is coordinated by Nicola Coccia, past president of Confitarma, coadiuvato by Giacomo Gavarone, Shipping Young president of the Group, the chief of staff of minister of Infrastructures and Trasporti, Gino Scaccia, it has announced that to February 2019 Stati Generali will be convened by minister of Infrastructures and the Transports in order to reunite all which operate and have acquaintances of the field, so that they can show solutions and hypothesis of improvement of the current situation.

The new mandate of the Committee Rules and Competitiveness is to study the single concrete cases shown from the companies associated to the aim to propose to the competent adequate organs of the State legislative and/or administrative participations. The Committee will be permanently operating and will work analyzing the national and international marine norms to the aim to simplify them and to return them more current and competitive. Confitarma has evidenced that for the good resolution of the initiative a strait is indispensable connection between Confitarma, Public Administration and expert jurists in admiralty law and will be equally important the contribution of the associated companies to the Confederation for the appraisal of the problematic ones on which to formulate the proposals to the competent authorities.
