The port of Rotterdam has recorded a new historical record of traffic anniversary



In the 2018 port of Rotterdam it has established the own new record historical anniversary of traffic of the goods having enlivened 469,0 million tons of cargos, with an light progression of +0.3% on 2017 when the precedence was marked record. The new peak anniversary is achieved thanks to 236,2 million the tons enlivened in the period July-December of 2018, since the precedence constitutes the new record of traffic relatively to the second half of a year (was obtained in the second half of the year of 2016 with the 232,1 million one tons), and to the new record of traffic enlivened in the solo fourth trimester of a year that is obtained in the last trimester of the 2018 with 119,0 million tons (precedence peak was of fourth trimester 2016 with 116,5 million tons).

Moreover the new historical record anniversary is reached thanks to the new records of the traffics of container and rotabili, both established previously in 2017, fields that have closed the 2018 respective with 149,1 million tons (+4.5% on the year precedence) and a handling of container pairs to 14,5 million teu (+5.7%) and with almost 24,1 million tons of cargos ro-ro (+1.1%). The other goods several instead is diminished of -1,5% coming down to the 6,4 million one tons. In bending also the liquid bulk with 211,8 million tons (- 1.1%), of which 104,2 million tons of oil crude oil (- 3.7%), 79,2 million tons of producing oil (- 1.9%), 5,2 of natural gas which liquified (+163.6%) and 28,6 million tons of other liquid bulk (- 0.9%). More emphasized the decrease of the solid bulk that has totaled 77,6 million tons (- 3.2%), of which 30,1 million tons of minerals and it scrap (- 3.6%), 26,4 million tons of coal (+2.3%), 9,8 million tons of agricultural bulk (- 11.6%) and 11,3 million tons of other bulk sand banks (- 6.3%).

Altogether last year the volumes of goods to the import are piled to 323,2 million tons (- 0.2%) and those to the export to 145,7 million tons (+1.6%).

Of 119,0 million the tons of goods enlivened by the Dutch port in the solo fourth trimester of 2018, with a progression of +2.7% on the same period of the year precedence, 38,0 million tons were constituted by containerized cargos (+3.5%) totaled with a handling of containers pairs to 3,7 million teu (+5.6%). The rotabili have attested to 5,9 million tons (+0.4%) and the other goods several to beyond 1,6 million tons (+16.2%). In increase also the bulk sand banks with a total of 21,0 million tons (+10.1%), of which 7,8 million tons of minerals and +3.2% scrap (), 7,4 million tons of coal (+25.9%), 2,6 million tons of agricultural bulk (+12.6%) and 3,0 million tons of other bulk sand banks (- 4.1%). In the field of the liquid bulk the traffic is diminished of -0,6% to the 52,4 million one tons, of which 25,2 million tons of oil crude oil (- 0.5%), 18,8 million producing tons of oil (- 3.2%), 1,5 million tons of natural gas which liquified (+114.3%) and 6,9 million tons of other cargos liquids (- 5.0%).

In the last trimester last year the total cargos to the import are piled to 82,2 million tons (+3.6%) and those to the export to 36,8 million tons (+0.9%).
