In the period April-june of 2019 is recorded the new historical quarterly record of goods on the ships that have crossed Suez



Last month the Suez Canal is crossed by 1.476 ships, with a decrease of the -4,4% on the june 2018, of which 388 oil tankers (- 7.4%) and 1,088 ships of other type (- 3.3%). The ships journeyed last month in the channel Egyptian transported a total of 83,7 million tons of goods, volume that represents an increment of +1.8% on the june the 2018 and new boarded cargo record on the ships passed in the way of water relatively to the single month of june (the precedence record was of june 2018). The greater cargo volumes on the ships directed to north were constituted by goods containerized (21,3 million tons, +0.9%), crude oil (4,0 million tons, -23,2%), diesel oils (3,0 million tons, +24.5%), natural gas which liquified (2,3 million tons, +71.8%), gasolines (2,1 million tons, -12,4%) and chemicals (1,3 million tons, -4,4%).

In the first half of 2019 in the channel they are journeyed altogether 9,144 ships, in increase of +3.5% on the first semester last year, of which 2,534 oil tankers (+13.4%) and 6,580 ships of other type (+0.1%). The ships journeyed in both the directions totally transported 503,6 million tons of goods, volume that the new relative record to the first semester of the year and an increase of +6.4% represents on the first six months of 2018 when the precedence was recorded record. Also the single volumes of cargo on the ships directed to south, with 267,0 million tons (+7.5%), have recorded a new record relatively to the first semester of the year, while the volumes of cargo on the ships directed to north, with 236,6 million tons (+5.3%) have marked the new historical semiannual record having exceeded also the precedence historical semiannual peak of 234,1 million tons obtained in the second half of the year of 2018.

Between the main transported volumes of goods on the ships directed to south, the goods in container pairs to 126,3 million tons (+3.8%), the crude oil to 25,7 million tons (+28.7%), the cereals to 18,6 million tons (- 14.5%), minerals and metals to 17,5 million tons (+23.6%), fuels to 14,2 million tons (+6.8%) and the coal and coke to 13,2 million tons (+22.4% have been). Between the main cargo volumes on the ships directed to north, the goods containerized has totaled 128,0 million tons (+5.4%), the oil crude oil 26,3 million tons (- 20.1%), diesel oils 17,2 million tons (+31.3%), the natural gas which liquified 12,1 million tons (+47.0%), gasolines 11,8 million tons (+5.3%) and chemicals 7,6 million tons (+14.4%).

Al 30 last June the Suez Canal has recorded also a new historical record relatively to the total volume of cargo on the ships journeyed in both the directions in the course of a single trimester: in the period April-june of 2019, in fact, has been pairs to a total of 259,5 million tons, with an increment of +4.0% on according to trimester last year and with an increase of +1.0% compared to the previous the marked historical quarterly record in the fourth trimester of 2018. The new absolute record is yields of the two records, this time relative to the second solo trimester of the year, of volumes of cargo on the ships directed to south and those directing to north that have turned out pairs respective to 139,1 million and 120,4 million tons, with progressions of +3.2% and of +5.0% on according to trimester last year.
