Confitarma urges the rapid release of refreshments to the companies of the first naval register

"Unfortunately - continued the director general of the shipowners' confederation - regrets to note that similar amendment to Article 88 of the same decree-law 104/2020, also requested by the European Commission, has not been inserted by the government in the measure being converted. Art. 88 - ha remembered Sisto - provides an important and urgent refreshment for the compartment of the first naval register. A measure, this, in its time wanted by the government and refinanced twice, most recently with the decree-law n.73/2021 so-called "Sostegni bis", to support shipowners that insure the fundamentals maritime cabotage and product replenishment services necessary for the propulsion and consumption on board ships, and storage and assistance to national energy platforms. Services that - underlined Sisto - have never stopped during the pandemic as considered by the government itself "services essential for the country"».

"Companies - highlighted the general director of Confitarma - they planned their economic management by doing entrustment on the refreshment assigned to them: it is a legitimate expectation. Moreover, in particular for some of them, the difficult situation is aggravated by competition "supported" by foreign companies'.

Referring then to the resources of the Supplementary Fund to the PNRR aimed at the green transition of the maritime sector, Sisto has noted that 'for shipping the reduction targets of the emissions identified at international and Community level are very ambitious, despite the fact that the same is unanimously recognized as a "hard to abbot" sector. Consistent with these objectives, in order to support the ecological transition process of the Italian fleet - recalled the general manager of Confitarma - the government has allocated through the Fund complementary to the PNRR important resources for renewal and the modernisation of ships. We consider it of fundamental importance - pointed out Sisto - that the issuing ministerial decree of implementation that will define the criteria for the disbursement of this green contribution provides, in line with the text of the standard (Decree-Law 59/2021), access to resources to all ships that they also operate outside Italy, reserving a reward specific for Mediterranean trades, so as to support the entire Italian fleet in the important transition process ecological launched at international level».
