In the third quarter of this year, the decline in intermodal traffic at the Interport of Bologna continued, which was more pronounced relative to train transits compared to those of trucks. In the period, truck traffic was 395mila heavy vehicles, with a decrease of -12.9% in the third quarter of 2022, while rail traffic was 825 trains (-38.2%) for a total of 13,692 railway wagons (-31.6%).
In the first nine months of 2023 the interport hub recorded a truck traffic of 1.33 million vehicles, down -7.4% percent on the same period last year, and a train traffic of 2,675 trains (-30.8%) for a total of 44,400 wagons (-23.3%).
