In the third quarter of 2023, for the fourth consecutive quarter, freight traffic in the port of Algeciras blamed a decline having been 25.8 million tonnes, down -3.3% percent on the same period last year. Contained the reduction of containerized loads that amounted to 14.5 million tonnes (-0.7%), traffic that was carried out with an handling of containers of 1.2 million teu (-1.7%). In the first nine months of 2023 the port of Algeciras handled 78.2 million tons of cargoes, with a -3.7% percent decline on the corresponding period last year. The container traffic alone amounted to more than 3.5 million teu (-0.9%), of which nearly 3.0 million transbordated teu (-0.6%), 297mila teu at landing (-2.2%) and 291mila teu at boarding (-2.4%).
