The Authority of Harbour System of the Southern Tyrrhenian Seas and Ionio has announced the renewal of the marine state concession to the society Heidelberg Materials Italy Cementi Spa, born from the fusion of Italcementi and Calcestruzzi and part of the German group Heidelberg Materials. The company has been operating for more than 25 years in the harbour area of Gioia Tauro where it carries out an activity of deposit and reload bulk of the cement. Approved by the members of the Management Committee of the harbour agency, the concession remains unchanged in its extension for an area of beyond 6,9 thousand square meters, while the duration of the contract passes from four to ten years, with expiration to end 2034.

Present in port with two silos, respectively of 9 thousand and 4 thousand tons of storage, located along the dock of west and organized for two different types of cement, Heidelberg Materials Italy Cementi has recorded a constant increase of the traffic enlivened in the port of Calabria. In particular, in 2024 40 thousand tons of reinforced concrete were enlivened with the arrival of 10 ships. The AdSP has specified that it is a growing trend with excellent development forecasts also in the current year.
