
The improvements in economic performance recorded in the
third quarter and, in particular, in the fourth quarter of the year
were not enough for the Kuehne+Nagel logistics group to close
the full year 2024 with profit growth compared to
the previous year, which had marked a decisive
Decline in results

March 2024).
Last year, the company's total net sales
amounted to 24.8 billion Swiss francs
(26.4 billion euros), with an increase of +2.7% on 2023 and with
a contribution of 9.3 billion from maritime shipments (+7.9%),
7.3 billion from air shipments (+5.3%), 3.5 billion from
road shipments (-1.7%) and €4.7 billion from contract
logistics (-0.8%). The group's EBITDA was
2.5 billion Swiss francs (-7.5%) and profit
operating at over €1.6 billion (-13.1%), with a contribution of €851 billion
million from maritime shipments (-16.2%), 478 million from
air shipments (-13.9%), of 98 million from road shipments
(-26.3%) and 227 million from contract logistics (+13.5%).
Kuehne+Nagel closed the financial year with a net profit of
over CHF 1.2 billion (-16.0%).
In the fourth quarter of 2024 alone, the group's net sales
stood at 7.4 billion, with an increase of +18.8% on the
same period as 2023. EBITDA and EBIT were equal
respectively to 632 million (+21.5%) and 421 million (+30.7%).
Quarterly net profit was CHF 315 million
(+11,3%).
In the October-December quarter of last year, the turnover
net shipping was 2.6 billion
(+43.7%) and the business segment recorded an EBITDA of 250
million (+40.4%) and EBIT of 198 million (+41.4%). In the sector
of air shipments net sales were 2.1
billion (+10.2%), EBITDA of 164 million (+14.7%) and EBIT of 148
million (+17.5%). Road transport operations have generated
quarterly net sales of €852 million (+2.2%), EBITDA of
29 million (0%) and EBIT of 10 million francs (-28.6%). In the
Contract Logistics segment Net sales were
of 1.2 billion (+6.3%), EBITDA of 234 million (+15.8%) and EBIT
of 65 million (+54.8%).
In the whole of 2024, the volumes of sea and air shipments
handled by the group amounted to €4.3 million respectively
of TEU containers (-0.6%) and 2.1 million tons (+5.5%), while
In the fourth quarter alone, they totaled 1.1 million TEUs
(-0.9%) and 558 thousand tons (+4.7%).
