Un train EurailCargo direct Anvers/Autriche Un train EurailCargo supplémentaire entre Anvers et l'Autriche sera bientôt mis en service au profit de la clientèle du port d'Anvers. Ce train respectera le nouvel horaire de la SNCB, offrant deux départs par jour, et ce à partir du 27 septembre prochain. Ce train transportera principalement des matières premières pour la production de papier, des bananes ainsi que des produits chimiques en direction de l'Autriche et du papier, de l'acier et des engrais en sens inverse. A noter qu'un deuxième train direct effectue depuis plusieurs mois le trajet Autriche/Anvers.

Mid-year changes for PSCs Conference carriers will adjust port service charges again in January to reflect the decision by the Sydney Ports Corporation to abolishes empty container charge. Smooth start-up for bar coding Qantas Freight says the start-up of mandatory bar coding of all export shipments at the airline's freight terminals in Australia earlier this month had gone according to plan, with more than 70 per cent of forwarders now using the bar coding technology. Qantas has earlier indicated that it would, for a short time, help those who did not have the required equipment in place by the 1 July start-up date. Qantas is offering to provide the labels for freight lodged without a bar code, but the label would have to be applied by the forwarder before the freight is physically accepted.
Derailment blocks east-west line Freight trains on the main east west line were cancelled for 48 hours over the weekend after a Westrail goods train derailed near Kalgoorlie early Saturday morning. The track, which suffered extensive damage in the accident, reopened to traffic yesterday morning. Passenger services have returned to normal but east-west freight services were expected to be delayed for some days to clear the backlog.
