Pour ce faire, il a affrété à long terme un PC multipurpose de 4.500 t. dw non-cellulaire et filant 16 noeuds, d'une capacité de 400 TEU, qui bat pavillon allemand. Cette unité opère sous le nom de "Nenufar Europa". La création de ce service s'inscrit dans le contexte d'une philosophie très particulière, propre à un groupe qui, de l'expédition, a évolué vers la fonction de transitaire maritime à prestations intégrées et en fonction de certains segments du marché.

    Les trois associations professionnelles du transport routier de marchandises ont, dans une initiative commune (une première!) rédigé une Charte de Sécurité à l'intention des transporteurs et des chauffeurs. En y souscrivant, ceux-ci s'engagent à respecter la réglementation et même à prendre des mesures allant au-delà. Le but est de restaurer l'image du secteur et, avec le temps, de faire baisser le nombre des accidents de la route impliquant des camions. L'initiative a été présentée mardi à la presse. Cette conférence de presse marquait le début d'une campagne. La sensibilisation des entreprises de tansport démarre ce mercredi.

    Recovering world oil prices passed a milestone today, hitting a new 10-month high. International benchmark North Sea Brent broke through the $15 a barrel level for the first time since May 1998, to trade up to $15.30 in afternoon business in London before closing at $15.22. Also today, the U.S. Department of Energy released its annual energy forecast report which said that world demand for crude oil is expected to increase an average of 1.8 percent a year over the next two decades. Based on these projections, DOE said global oil demand would jump to 110 million bpd in 2020, from its current level of 75 million bpd.
