  • Le réseau d'agences I-CAN offrira une couverture mondiale aux secteurs autres que le "liner"
    Un nouveau réseau mondial d'agences maritimes sera lancé en janvier prochain sous le dénominateur I-CAN (Inter-Continental Agency Network). Un groupe d'agences possédant une forte implantation régionale coopérera via un site Internet dans le but de proposer un service uniforme et de qualité à des clients qui ne sont pas actifs dans la navigation de ligne, mais dans des secteurs comme les vracs secs, le transport de gaz, les croisières et le transport reefer. Ils entendent de la sorte combiner leur "savoir-faire local" à une "couverture globale". Le réseau sera doté d'une structure officielle via la création d'une firme basée à Anvers. L'agence maritime anversoise Aseco compte parmi les fondateurs de ce partenariat et représentera I-CAN en Europe du Nord.
  • Menlo Logistics va assurer la logistique européenne de NCR
    La société Menlo Logistics (Redwood City, Californie), qui fait partie - avec Conway et Emery - du groupe américain CNF, a signé un accord avec le groupe NCR pour la conception et la gestion de sa logistique en Europe, en Afrique et au Moyen-Orient. C'est le deuxième contrat obtenu par Menlo en Europe, après celui signé en 1997 avec Nike Equipment. Pour appuyer l'expansion sur le Vieux Continent, un bureau a été ouvert en novembre à Amsterdam. La priorité sera donnée aux grands projets complexes, demandant une ingénierie logistique intensive, a indiqué la direction du groupe à Amsterdam.
