C'est maintenant chose faite. Un groupe d'action vient d'être officiellement constitué au sein de l'organisation "European Community Shipowner's Association" (ECSA), dont il assume d'ailleurs la présidence.

    Le mois prochain, Bilbao va lancer un appel d'offres pour l'exploitation du terminal containérisé dans la nouvelle zone portuaire dans l'estuaire de Bilbao. L'attribution de la concession, qui pourra aller jusqu'à trente ans, est attendue pour la fin de l'année, nous a déclaré Luis Gabiola, directeur operations & commercial development des autorités portuaires locales, en marge de la présentation de la mission portuaire anversoise dans ce centre de transbordement du nord de l'Espagne. L'infrastructure de base existe déjà. On attend de l'exploitant qu'il se charge du lay-out du terminal, de l'équipement et des superstructures.

    L'intérêt suscité par l'éventuelle construction d'un centre fluvial à Rotterdam est suffisant pour justifier sa réalisation. Le centre, qui sera réservé aux entreprises et instances du secteur de la navigation intérieure, aux organisations fluviales, à la Bibliothèque des Navigants, aux affréteurs et au service d'inspection du Transport, sera aménagé sur les anciens terrains de l'arrimeur Hanno, sur la presqu'ile située entre le Rijnhaven et le Maashaven.
