    EUROPEAN transport commissioner Loyola de Palacio said she hopes that EU transport ministers can agree her revised proposals for rail freight liberalisation when they meet on December 9 and 10.
  • Iraq tipped to renew oil deal
    IRAQ is likely to accept a straightforward six-month rollover of its oil-for-food deal with the United Nations on conditions similar to previous phases, most western diplomats in the Iraqi capital said yesterday.

Jim Poon managing director de l'armement OOCL pour l'Asie, qui s'exprimait lors d'une manifestation qui s'est tenue récemment à Hong-kong, a développé ses vues sur l'avenir qu'il entrevoit pour les grands armements containérisés.
  • UPS acquiert la division logistique de Rollins Truck Leasing
    L'opération date du 15 novembre, mais bien peu de publicité lui a été donnée: UPS Logistics Group (Atlanta) et Rollins Truck Leasing (Wilmington, Delaware) ont conclu une alliance stratégique, dans le cadre de laquelle UPS va acheter la division Rollins Logistics et Rollins va acquérir UPS Truck Leasing. Les deux groupes deviendront, chacun dans leur secteur, partenaires privilégiés. Les analystes américains estiment que c'est le début d'une offensive visant à contrer la Deutsche Post dans sa stratégie d'expansion. D'autres acquisitions majeures par UPS seraient à prévoir.
