    A l'issue des 9 premiers mois le trafic maritime du port de Zeebrugge était toujours en hausse, de 6,6% avec un volume de 26,66 mio. de t. Tous les secteurs de trafic présentent des résultats positifs, les uns d'une manière plus prononcée que les autres. Les records se situent dans les secteurs du conventionnel/breakbulk (+35%) et dans celui des voitures neuves (+20%). Si les tendances se maintiennent jusqu'à la fin de l'année, le score final dépassera quelque peu les 35 mio. de t, ce qui constituera un record absolu.
  • Les armateurs français recherchent la compétitivité
    Avec 218 navires sous pavillon national et 150 contrôlés mais armés sous des pavillons tiers, la flotte de commerce française stagne au 28ème rang mondial. Les inquiétudes tiennent à deux paramètres. D'une part, la compétitivité des armateurs européens en général s'est beaucoup améliorée au cours des dernières années. D'autre part, celle du pavillon français n'a pas bénéficié des mêmes avancées et elle va encore être pénalisée par l'entrée en vigueur des 35 heures.
  • Evergreen pourrait évoluer vers une nouvelle dimension
    De passage à Londres, le président du groupe Evergreen Chang Yung-Fa, a confirmé au cours d'une conférence de presse qu'il allait d'une part transférer jusqu'à 40 navires placés sous pavillon panaméen à sa filiale Lloyd Triestino et qu'il voulait donner une nouvelle dimension à l'armement Evergreen Marine Corp en y incorporant l'autre filiale Uniglory. Cela pourra se faire dès que la législation taïwanaise le permettra étant donné que ces deux compagnies sont cotées séparément en bourse.

    La société danoise DFDS Dan Transport a signé un accord selon lequel elle achètera la société allemande Deugro Carl E. Press Logistics à Francfort. Cette opération se fera avec effet rétroactif au 1er septembre 1999.
