German yard secures mystery boxship order

GERMAN shipyard Volkswerft, part of the Danish AP Moller Group, is celebrating an order for four 2,900-TEU containerships, which will secure full-time employment of its 1,200 employees until 2001.

Officials from the newly revamped yard declined to reveal any details about the order, including who placed it.
