Jusqu'à présent ce genre d'activités se manifeste essentiellement dans la zone portuaire de Bassens, mais pas dans un contexte bien structuré.
  • Cargaison record de Mazda au terminal automobile sur la rive gauche à Anvers
    Le week-end dernier, le carcarrier "Rio Blanco" de l'armateur Mitsui OSK Lines est venu décharger une cargaison record de 4.028 Mazda au terminal automobile de Hessenatie sur la rive gauche à Anvers. Il s'agissait du premier envoi "dédié" de voitures pour le compte de la marque japonaise. Le navire avait chargé les voitures à Hiroshima et avait navigué directement vers Anvers pour y décharger toute sa cargaison. Le délai de transit entre le Japon et le port scaldien a ainsi pu être ramené de 40 jours habituellement à 29 jours. Pour l'armateur, cela s'est traduit par une diminution des coûts opérationnels, alors que le constructeur automobile a vu baisser de 27% son "lead time" pour le transport des voitures entre son usine nipponne et le marché européen.
  • Joyau passe sous le contrôle de la Société Générale
    La société française de messagerie Joyau (Montaigu) a changé d'actionnaire principal: la Société Générale - via sa filiale londonienne SG European Private Equity Partners - a repris les 74% du capital que détenait le groupe de capital - développement Alpha Développement Finance depuis 1995. Son PDG, Jacques Godet, détient les 26% restants. Cette opération est destinée à relancer le développement de l'entreprise de manière indépendante, sans tomber dans le giron d'un groupe international. Ce renforcement sera fera prioritairement dans l'Hexagone, une internationalisation des activités - par partenariat - étant prévue pour 2001/2002, "lorsque le marché européen se sera quelque peu stabilisé après les turbulences de ces dernières années", nous a déclaré Godet sur son stand à la SITL.

    Le chiffre d'affaires de Koninklijke Frans Maas Groep a augmenté de 6% pour atteindre 700 mio. d'EUR l'année dernière. Le bénéfice net a augmenté de 13% à 16,7 mio. d'EUR. Grâce à l'obtention de plusieurs grands contrats logistiques et à la réalisation d'un certain nombre de reprises, Frans Maas a en outre jeté les bases d'une nouvelle croissance des résultats en 2000.
