    Les chemins de fer français ont pris jeudi une décision choquante, sans doute unique dans les annales de la SNCF et du rail européen: en conséquence de la grève de jeudi dernier et du chaos qui en a résulté, Louis Gallois, président de la SNCF, a avisé par fax jeudi soir les réseaux voisins de la suspension des trains de marchandises à l’entrée de l’Hexagone et en transit jusqu’au 4 avril.
  • Les problèmes de production du TG-A ont pesé sur les résultats de MAN Nfz
    Durant la courte année fiscale 2000 (de juillet à décembre), le constructeur de poids lourds MAN Nutzfahrzeuge a réalisé des chiffres records au niveau des commandes (+12%), des ventes (+20%) et de la production (+6%). Les coûts liés au lancement de la nouvelle gamme TG-A ont toutefois pesé sur le résultat, de sorte que le bénéfice avant impôts a baissé de 121 millions d’EUR (durant la periode comparable en 1999) à 85 mio. d’EUR l’année dernière.
  • Smit Internationale: l’exercice 2000 n’a pas tenu ses promesses
    “2000 ne sera pas une année à marquer d’une pierre blanche dans les 160 années d’existence du groupe de remorquage et de sauvetage néerlandais Smit Internationale. L’exercice n’a pas tenu ses promesses.” Le président du groupe, Nico Buis, a même qualifié l’exercice de “décevant”. Si le chiffre d’affaires a augmenté de 310 millions d’EUR en 99 à 377 mio. d’EUR en 2000, le bénéfice d’exploitation a par contre chuté de 28,9 à 23,5 mio. d’EUR. Le bénéfice net a quant à lui plongé de 25,5 à 14,3 mio. d’EUR. Coté positif, le résultat avant intérêts et impôts plus amortissements a augmenté de 64 à 66 mio. d’EUR.
  • La SNCB réduit ses divisions de vingt-deux à neuf
    La SNCB va donc recevoir 644 milliards de BEF, ce qu’elle demandait. Cet effort budgétaire sera étalé sur une période de dix ans ou un peu plus, douze ou même quinze, on n’en était pas encore sûr au moment de mettre sous presse, le conseil de gouvernement devant normalement émettre un communiqué vers 16h30. Il devait aussi préciser le nombre de divisions que comprendra la SNCB (en principe neuf au lieu de vingt-deux, mais quid d’ABX?), et peut-être aussi le rôle réservé à Etienne Schouppe.
