Précisons que cette réduction de capacité ne se fait pas d'une manière programmée ou concertée, mais qu'elle résulte d'actions propres à chacun des armements. On sait que la FEFC avait recommandé une réduction de capacité de l'ordre de 10% pour la période octobre/mars 2002. Hessenatie Logistics investit dans le renouvellement de sa flotte de camions L'entreprise anversoise Hessenatie Logistics vient de réceptionner 25 nouveaux camions. Il s'agit de 22 tracteurs Iveco EuroTech et de trois transporteurs de voitures Iveco avec remorques et châssis Lohr. Ils remplaceront autant de camions MAN, une opération qui s'inscrit dans un programme de renouvellement de sa flotte. Il y a cependant peu de chances de voir ces nouveaux camions sur les routes belges et européennes: ils ne seront pratiquement utilisés que dans la zone portuaire d'Anvers.

La haute direction de la maison-mère Preussag vient de l'annoncer: Bernd Wrede (58 ans), président du conseil exécutif de l'armement Hapag-Lloyd va quitter l'entreprise à la fin de cette année, à l'expiration de son contrat. La nouvelle n'a pas manqué de surprendre tant en Allemagne qu'à l'étranger. Hapag-Lloyd va ainsi perdre un de ses plus brillants managers, si pas le plus brillant, qui a contribué à faire de cette entreprise l'armement le mieux géré d'Europe, mais aussi le plus rentable.
