    La Belgique n’est pas le seul pays où la navigation intérieure redresse la tête et reconquiert des parts de marché. L’Allemagne (voir article en page intérieure) et la France en fournissent deux autres illustrations. En France, le transport par la voie d’eau a enregistré l’année dernière une hausse de 6,7% des volumes, à 58,7 millions de tonnes, et de 6,3% en prestations de transport, à 7,72 milliards de tonnes-kilomètres. La batellerie progresse plus vite que la route (+1,2%) et le rail (+6,2%), ses deux concurrents, constate avec satisfaction Voies Navigables de France.
