Le rapport de 1999 révèle que Zeebrugge a été le seul port flamand cette année-là ayant vu progresser sa contribution au Trésor. En comparaison avec les trois autres ports, il a en outre été le seul qui a noté une amélioration pour tous les paramètres par rapport à lannée précédente. Par ailleurs, il a également été le seul port où le secteur public a enregistré une hausse considérable des investissements (+83%). Ajoutons que Zeebrugge a aussi été le seul port où le secteur privé a signalé des chiffres en croissance sur tous les fronts. En 1999, Sea-Ro Terminals a été le principal prestataire de services sur le plan de lemploi, des investissements et de la valeur ajoutée.
