    Le transbordement de containers au terminal fluvial WCT situé le long du canal Albert à Meerhout a progressé de plus de 33,5% par rapport à 1999. L’année 1999 avait été clôturée avec un transbordement de 80.776 TEU. A l’issue de l’année 2000, un transbordement total de 107.818 TEU a pu être enregistré.

    La presse d’information générale vient de découvrir ce que nous annoncions dans notre édition du 8 décembre dernier, à savoir que c’est le groupe PSA de Singapour qui a de fortes chances de prendre une participation majoritaire dans la future entité fusionnée HesseNoordnatie. Si le groupe singapourien a été retenu, c’est pour la bonne raison que son offre était supérieure à celle de son concurrent immédiat Eurogate. Le groupe AP Møller/Mærsk avait été éliminé très tôt, son offre ayant été jugée dérisoire. De même que les trois groupes financiers n’ont pas été retenus, car ne s’inscrivant pas tout à fait dans le contexte du “plan industriel” envisagé, bien que l’un d’eux aurait encore fait une approche de dernière minute.
