Une autre question est maintenant à l’étude, à savoir si les amendes imposées aux opérateurs ferroviaires par les autorités britanniques si l’on découvre des passagers clandestins sont également illégales.
  • Les autorités flamandes investissent indirectement dans DAT
    Le gouvernement flamand est finalement disposé à investir 24,5 mio. d’EUR (1 mia. de BEF) dans la nouvelle compagnie aérienne DAT. Il procédera pour se faire par voie indirecte, via une participation dans BIAC, le gestionnaire de l’aéroport de Zaventem. Tous les problèmes ne sont pas pour autant résolus, l’issue du projet DAT restant très incertain.
  • Accord sur le limiteur de vitesse pour les petits camions et autobus
    Les ministres européens du Transport sont tombés d’accord sur l’introduction obligatoire de limiteurs de vitesse automatiques pour les petits camions (à partir de 3,5 tonnes) et les bus à partir de huit passagers. Il s’agit en fait d’une modification de la directive de 1992, qui impose le limiteur de vitesse pour les poids lourds de plus de 12 tonnes et les autobus à partir de 10 tonnes.
  • Netelenbos voit le cabotage comme alternative au transit alpin
    La ministre néerlandaise du Transport Tineke Netelenbos a remis un mémorandum à ses collègues vendredi dernier, en marge du conseil européen des ministres du Transport. Dans ce document, elle plaide pour un réduction sensible du transit alpin à travers l’Autriche, la Suisse et la France pour le transport de marchandises. Selon Netelenbos, cela peut se faire en transférant certaines cargaisons de la route vers le cabotage (short sea shipping). Dans un mémorandum, la ministre se dit convaincue qu’il est possible d’agir rapidement.
