Il nous a toutefois déclaré qu’il serait fortement prématuré de parler d’un accord entre les deux constructeurs. “Nous avons décidé d’explorer les possibilités de coopération”, a-t-il précisé. Hapag-Lloyd projette des acquisitions dans la logistique terrestre “Nous sommes résolument axés sur la croissance des marchés du transport et de la logistique. Nous continuerons de tirer avantage des opportunités qui se présentent sur le marché, et nous procéderons à une expansion de nos positions de leader. Cela se fera essentiellement par une croissance interne, mais nous n’excluons pas des acquisitions. Nous sommes acheteurs et non vendeurs.” Prié de s’expliquer sur ce point, Bernd Wrede, le président du conseil executif du groupe Hapag-Lloyd, qui présidait mercredi dernier à Londres la traditionnelle conférence de presse du début d’année, assisté de Günther Casjens, le patron de Hapag-Lloyd Container Lines, a précisé qu’il ne s’agissait pas de procéder à des rachats de grands armements ou à des fusions, mais que si de telles opérations devaient se manifester dans le secteur du transport maritime, elles porteraient sur des activités intéressant des niches de trafic.
