    La crise s’accentue dans le liner containérisé. Selon un rapport de BRS-Alphaliner, il y avait au début décembre 65 PC cellulaires de plus de 1.000 TEU (soit une capacité totale de 136.000 TEU ou 2,7% de cette flotte) en situation de lay-up. Parmi ceux-ci figuraient 5 PC de 5.000 à 6.000 TEU en lay-up ou en semi-lay-up au Far East. On peut d’ailleurs s’attendre à ce que ce nombre ira croissant au fil des prochaines semaines puisque d’aucuns parmi les opérateurs annoncent l’immobilisation d’au moins 15% de la flotte des PC opérant Est-Ouest et ce pour l’ensemble de l’année 2002.
  • La famille Borms met le nouveau “Poolster” en service
    Le “Poolster” chargera aujourd’hui à Flessingue une première cargaison destinée à l’industrie sidérurgique dans la région de Liège. Cette unité de 2.850 tonnes est la dernière acquisition de la famile P. Borms-I. Delens. L’unité a été baptisée vendredi dernier sur le chantier naval Instalho à Werkendam par leur fille aînée Enya.
  • 2001 a été une mauvaise année pour les utilitaires Mercedes-Benz en Belgique
    DaimlerChrysler Belux a présenté vendredi passé le bilan de l’année écoulée. Si dans les voitures, il est globalement positif (Smart et Mercedes-Benz ont progressé, Chrysler a souffert du lancement de sept nouveaux produits), dans les véhicules utilitaires, il est franchement mauvais. La marque à l’étoile a régressé sur ses marchés traditionnels (utilitaires et camions légers) et sur le marché du tracteur, sa part de marché est même retombée à un niveau qui la ramène au début des années 1980. Annette Winkler, administrateur délégué de la société belge, nous a déclaré qu’elle compte redresser la barre - entre autres - en misant moins sur les flottes et plus sur les PME du transport.
