    La vente de la Compagnie d’Affrètement & Transport (CAT, siège à Paris/Boulogne-Billancourt) vient d’être officiellement conclue hier mardi. Cette filiale du groupe Renault passe à 100% sous le contrôle du consortium international Global Automotive Logistics (GAL), dont le nom commercial est Albateam. Son capital est réparti comme suit: 40% Autologic (Grande-Bretagne); 20% TNT (Pays-Bas); 20% Wallenius-Wilhemsen (Suède) et 20% Renault (France). Le montant de la transaction s’élève à 467,4 millions d’EUR (3,06 milliards de FRF). Albateam finance cet achat à raison de 40% sur fonds propres et de 60% via un prêt obtenu de la CIBC (Commercial International Bank of Canada).

    L’association professionnelle des pilotes maritimes BVL (Beroepsvereniging van Loodsen) rejette catégoriquement la proposition du gouvernement flamand visant à exempter du pilotage obligatoire les navires de mer ne dépassant pas une certaine taille. Dans une première phase, les unités maritimes d’une longueur inférieure à 80 mètres seraient exemptées du pilotage obligatoire. Dans une deuxième phase, la longueur des navires exemptés serait portée à 90 mètres. Les pilotes estiment que cette mesure compromettra la sécurité de la navigation sur l’Escaut. Ils regrettent en outre qu’ils n’ont pas été consultés en la matière.

    Les organisateurs du séminaire pétrochimique, à savoir l’Entreprise portuaire d’Anvers et le Société de développement régional (GOM), ont rompu une lance au cours de cette manifestation destinée aux entreprises actives dans ce secteur en Belgique pour la reconnaissance du cluster chimique dans le port en tant que “Europe’s Chemical Business Hub”. Les entreprises présentes ont largement pu prendre conscience des autres facettes offertes par la région, en plus de la situation stratégique du port pour la production et la logistique.
