Ces installations seront opérationnelles vers le mois d’octobre de cette année. Des activités commerciales n’étant pas prévues pour l’instant, l’investissement reste relativement modeste.
  • Les pays émergents auront besoin du transport routier pour “décoller” économiquement
    L’ouverture progressive des marchés va provoquer un essor des transports nationaux et internationaux dans les marchés émergents. Il s’agit pour ces pays de concilier croissance et respect de l’environnement, c’est-à-dire de mettre en place des structures de développement du transport durable. La question qui se pose dès lors est de savoir si ces pays pourront réaliser leur croissance de la même manière que les économies occidentales, c’est-à-dire via un “boom” du transport routier, ou s’ils devront tenir compte de l’expérience européenne et sauter cette étape afin de suivre la politique qui est désormais prônée en Europe. Des débats au Congrès mondial de l’IRU à Bucarest, il est ressorti que cette émergence économique ne pourra se faire sans miser dans une très large mesure sur le transport routier. Mais, étonnamment, ce n’est pas des milieux de la route qu’émanait le discours le plus fort en ce sens, mais bien d’un observateur neutre, la Banque Mondiale.

Suite à l’offre très restreinte de main-d’oeuvre, ils ont cependant été confrontés à une croissance des coûts du personnel largement supérieure à la moyenne nationale (7,2% contre 4,8%). C’est ce qu’a déclaré Philip Van gestel, le CEO de Hesse Noord Natie, jeudi soir lors de la “cérémonie de clôture” de l’année académique 2001-2002 de l’Institute of Transport & Maritime Management Antwerp (ITMMA) de l’Université d’Anvers.
