La nouvelle vient d’être confirmée par Yang Ming à la délégation anversoise actuellement à Taiwan dans le cadre de la tournée d’une importante mission économique belge: le service hebdomadaire Europe-Asie AES 1 (Asia Express Service), qui avait été transféré vers la mi-août pour des raisons d’ordre technique d’Anvers à Rotterdam chez Hanno-Uniport, reviendra en direct à l’un des terminaux à marée de la Hesse Noord Natie dès le 22 novembre prochain. C’est le m/v “Akinada Bridge” qui officialisera ce retour.
  • Mobilisation des transporteurs français face au déclin de leurs parts de marché
    Sur la scène du transport routier européen, le pavillon français se porte mal. La compétitivité des transporteurs hexagonaux ne cesse de s’éroder, au point qu’en transport international, leur part de marché a régressé de 8 points en cinq ans, de 54 % en 1996 à 46% l’année passée. En cause: le manque d’harmonisation au niveau européen et la prolifération de contraintes réglementaires franco-françaises. Tant la FNTR, qui tenait son Congrès ces-jours-ci à Paris, que l’AFTRI tirent la sonnette d’alarme.
  • USA/côte Ouest: les armements de ligne commencent à payer un lourd tribut
    La fermeture totale des ports de la côte ouest des Etats-Unis en était mercredi dernier à son quatrième jour et çà et là dans les divers milieux économiques américains et asiatiques inquiétudes et tensions commençaient à prendre certaines proportions, devant les conséquences catastrophiques que pourraient avoir un prolongement de la situation. Des voix commencent à s’élever pour réclamer une intervention de l’administration Bush, qui semblent fonder quelque espoir dans l’intervention d’un médiateur fédéral neutre. Une réunion devait avoir lieu ce mercredi, mais on en attendait rien de spectaculaire dans l’immédiat étant donné qu’un climat de méfiance s’est installé entre les parties concernées. Pour l’instant l’administration Bush, tout en manifestant une sérieuse inquiétude, fait preuve de prudence et de réserve. L’affaire est particulièrement délicate, car il ne faut pas perdre de vue que le déroulement de ce conflit peut avoir des répercussions considérables sur les futures négociations qui devront intervenir sur la côte est en 2004.
