Ce service fait l’objet d’une mutation en service pendulaire entre l’Asie, et via Panama, le Golfe du Mexique et la côte est des USA.

    Claude Martinand, le président de RFF (Réseau Ferré de France), est très clair: “Compte tenu de la dette héritée du passé, le système ferroviaire français ne peut pas, même en vingt ans, sortir seul de sa situation actuelle. A juste titre, une solution transitoire avait été mise en place. Mais elle remonte à 1997. Peut-être serait-il temps de trouver aujourd’hui une solution plus durable”. Pour dire les choses encore plus carrément: il faudra que l’Etat mette la main à la poche s’il veut vraiment assurer l’avenir du mode ferroviaire en France.

De plus, il veut accroître sa capacité de transport en signant des accords de partenariat. Horvath a fait ces déclarations en marge de la présentation des résultats financiers pour 2001.
