    La conjoncture économique moins favorable s’est traduite l’an dernier, sur le réseau des voies navigables géré par le Dienst voor de Scheepvaart (DvS), par une stabilisation du trafic, après des années de croissance souvent considérable. Le tonnage transporté a atteint 35,91 millions de tonnes, ce qui représente une petite perte de 127.000 tonnes ou 0,4% par rapport à l’exercice 2000 (36,04 mio. de t). Exprimée en prestations de transport, l’activité navale sur le canal Albert et les voies navigables campinoises a légèrement progressé, avec une hausse de 53,4 millions tonnes-kilomètre ou 2% à 2,76 milliards de tonnes-kilomètre (contre 2,70 mia. de t.km en 2000). Le DvS s’est montré satisfait “que les gains de trafic des années précédentes ont pu être maintenus” malgré un certain ralentissement de l’économie. La construction de nouveaux murs de quai a indéniablement contribué aux bons résultats.
  • La GIMV cède sa participation dans le groupe Essers
    Mission accomplie, annonce la GIMV. “Après 12 ans il était temps de céder notre participation dans Essers. Nous nous retirons par ailleurs d’une très performante entreprise”, a déclaré Guy Mampaey, le directeur Corporate Investments de la GIMV. La transaction a rapporté une plus-value de 16 mio. d’EUR à la société d’investissement. Au cours des douze dernières années, le Groupe Essers s’est développé d’une entreprise de transport régional en un prestataire international de services logistiques intégrés, qui a réalisé l’année dernière un chiffre d’affaires de plus de 100 mio. d’EUR.
  • ADPO met en service le “terminal C” pour le trafic de Celanese
    C’est fin décembre qu’ADPO Anvers, sur la rive gauche, a réceptionné en même temps les deux premiers navires dans le cadre du nouveau trafic que le groupe Celanese Chemicals a confié à l’entreprise d’entreposage citernier. ADPO a investi environ 30 millions d’EUR dans un tout nouveau terminal et une jetée pour Celanese. Cette nouvelle activité représente l’importation de quelque 500.000 tonnes sur une base annuelle. Ce trafic concerne des produits chimiques de base provenant des Etats-Unis, du Mexique et de Singapour et essentiellement destinés au marché européen.
