    A l’occasion de l’inauguration du salon de l’utilitaire RAI à Amsterdam, Eckhard Cordes, le président de la division utilitaires du groupe DaimlerChrysler, s’est déclaré relativement satisfait du léger bénéfice réalisé par sa division en 2001, qui a été une année difficile pour le secteur des poids lourds au niveau mondial. Le programme de restructuration lancé par la division américaine Freightliner a généré 300 millions d’USD d’économies en six mois de temps, chiffre conforme aux prévisions, a précisé Cordes. Pour 2002, il table sur une régression de 10 à 15% du marché des camions et fourgonnettes. DaimlerChrysler lancera six nouveaux véhicules sur le marché cette année.
