  • Bush veut impliquer l’Europe dans un dirigisme portuaire et maritime
    Les tragiques événements du 11 septembre ont semble-t-il, plongé les dirigeants américains dans une psychose des attaques terroristes sur leur territoire, à telle enseigne qu’ils en arrivent, président Bush en tête, à élaborer des stratégies les plus invraisemblables. Certes les menaces sont toujours bien réelles et partant des mesures de sécurité et de contrôle s’imposent qui concernent tant les transports aériens que maritimes et partant les aéroports et les ports. Il y a quelques semaines le président Bush évoquait la nécessité de partager la facture des mesures de sécurité étant donné qu’une bonne partie des cargaisons destinées aux Etats-Unis sont embarquées dans des ports européens, qui doivent donc adopter les mesures nécessaires. Aujourd’hui, l’administration Bush évoque la possibilité de limiter le trafic maritime vers les Etats-Unis à 10 ports de par le monde.
  • Le VSA3 à la veille d’un éclatement?
    Le groupe VSA 3 composé de CSAV et filiales Montemar/Hansa Star, de Contship, Euro Atlantik Container Line et jusqu’en avril de P&ONL, est-il à la veille de l’éclatement? Le départ de P&ONL, qui semblait ne pas apprécier certaines situations dominantes, a provoqué quelques remous au sein de ce groupe qui compte également des co-chargeurs, à savoir NYK, Hanjin/Senator Lines et Lykes Lines. Il s’avère que des co-chargeurs vont et envisagent de rejoindre P&ONL. Cette situation se précise alors que le groupe a restructuré ses activités, passant de deux services distincts à un seul grand service hebdomadaire.
  • Le groupe Volvo plonge dans le rouge
    Le groupe suédois Volvo (poids lourds, autobus, équipements de construction, moteurs marins) a subi une perte nette de 158,6 millions d’EUR l’année dernière, contre un bénéfice net de 497 mio. d’EUR un an plus tôt. Ces mauvais résultats sont essentiellement attribués à des coûts de restructuration dans les secteurs des camions et des bus et à la dégradation de la conjoncture.

    Les autorités portuaires suédoises de Göteborg sont très satisfaites de la légère croissance enregistrée l’an dernier. Le port suédois a noté une croissance de 1%, portant le volume total à 33,50 mio. de tonnes. Le trafic containérisé a augmenté de 2% à 698.000 TEU.
