    “Feport est d’avis qu’il devrait être laissé au marché le soin de décider combien d’opérateurs sont nécessaires par port et dans le cas d’abus de position dominante, les règles de concurrence devraient s’appliquer”. C’est ce qu’a déclaré Paul Valkeniers, président de Feport, la Fédération des opérateurs portuaires privés, lors de la convention Marilog qui s’est tenue tout récemment à Hambourg.

    Il n’est pas rare d’entendre la commissaire européenne aux Transports et à l’Energie Loyola de Palacio et ses adjoints parler avec dédain de la vitesse des trains de marchandises en Europe. Son prédécesseur Kinnock parlait encore de 16 km/h, elle descend même à huit km/h. Il est tout de même bon de savoir que tous les trains ne circulent pas à cette vitesse, loin s’en faut.

    Dans notre édition d’hier, nous annoncions que dans le cadre de la vente par appartements du groupe français Vialle, Gilbert Keulders, l’ancien propriétaire de la société de transport du même nom, allait probablement racheter son anciennen entreprise. “C’est fait”, nous a-t-il déclaré hier au téléphone. Il a précisé que beaucoup d’énergie devra désormais aller à la restauration de la confiance des clients, des fournisseurs et du personnel. Il voit toutefois les choses d’un très bon oeil, car depuis la restructuration d’il y a un peu plus d’un an, la société est saine et bénéficaire.
