La compagnie vise 400.000 passagers et un bénéfice de deux millions d’EUR pour cette année. Elle voudrait aussi que toute la clarté soit faite sur la concurrence déloyale qu’elle estime subir de la part de New DAT, tout en n’excluant pas de coopérer avec cette dernière sur certaines routes. Enfin, VLM souhaite que les investissements prévus à Anvers, comme le tunnel de la Krijgsbaan et la rénovation de l’aéroport, se réalisent le plus rapidement possible.
  • UE: le transport national de fret par le rail entièrement libéralisé d’ici 2008?
    La Commission européenne a l’intention de présenter mercredi prochain, sur proposition de la commissaire aux Transports Loyola de Palacio, un nouveau train de mesures ferroviaires visant notamment à libéraliser complètement le transport national de marchandises par le rail dans l’Union européenne à l’horizon 2008. Ce “paquet” comprend également une proposition qui a pour but de compléter le cadre légal actuel en matière de sécurité du transport ferroviaire et d’interopérabilité via de nouvelles mesures.
  • Est-Ouest: le Liner dans l’attente du redressement
    En cette mi-janvier, force est de constater que les taux pour les trafics containérisés Est-Ouest n’ont guère amorcé un redressement spectaculaire. Il est sans doute encore trop tôt, car ce n’est vraisemblablement que vers la fin de ce premier trimestre que les réductions de capacité “devraient” avoir un impact, du moins pour ce qui est de la relation entre l’Europe et l’Asie. En outre, il ne faut pas oublier qu’au niveau de la relation Europe-Asie, la plupart des contrats eastbound passés entre armateurs et chargeurs sont valables jusqu’au 28 février. C’est dire que les négociations sont en cours ou doivent encore intervenir. Par contre, westbound, les contrats devaient être renouvelés pour le 1er janvier. Toutefois, selon certaines informations, il y aurait eu ça et là des reports d’un mois, des chargeurs ayant plutôt tendance à adopter une attitude d’expectative.
