    Le premier ministre de Singapour, Goh Chok Tong, a clairement affirmé dans un discours que l’Etat “voulait maintenir à tout prix son statut de principal hub pour la navigation de ligne en Asie du Sud-Est”. Il a confirmé que l’Etat avait prévu des terrains pour 20 emplacements supplémentaires pour porte-containers et que ces emplacements seront exploités par “celui qui en sera le mieux à même”, même si cela signifie que Singapour devra pour la première fois de son histoire passer par un autre groupe que PSA Corp, qui domine actuellement la manutention de containers dans cet Etat.
