    “C’est avec une certitude de 100% que nous pouvons affirmer que la Noordster Logistiek Platform que nous inaugurons aujourd’hui sur les terrains d’Atofina à Anvers, est la plus grande plate-forme logistique au monde.” C’est ce qu’a déclaré Fernand Huts, l’administrateur-délégué du grand groupe belge Katoen Natie, à l’occasion d’une conférence de presse organisée hier vendredi. La plate-forme s’étend sur une longueur de deux kilomètres et est implantée entre l’usine d’Atofina et la Cinquième darse portuaire sur la rive droite à Anvers. L’investissemnt total s’élève à 50 millions d’EUR. “Aujourd’hui, nous célébrons en même temps le trentième anniversaire de notre relation avec Atofina”, a ajouté Huts.
  • Anvers: le trafic maritime renoue avec la croissance
    Le processus de redressement qui s’était amorcé au port d’Anvers dès le mois de février, s’est poursuivi au fil des mois suivants, de sorte qu’à la fin septembre, le trafic maritime global affichait un score en hausse de 0,65% à 97,58 millions de tonnes (contre 96;94 mio. de t en 2001). L’exercice 2002 avait commencé par un recul de 5,4%, qui s’est progressivement amenuisé par la suite, en passant à -4,6% en février et -2,3% à l’issue du premier semestre. Si la tendance se maintient, les mois d’août et septembre ayant été particulièrement bons, Anvers a de bonnes chances de dépasser son score de l’année dernière, qui avait été de 130,05 mio. de t.
  • Scania concentre la production des cabines à Oskarshamn
    Scania va fermer son usine de cabines de Meppel, aux Pays-Bas, en date du 1er décembre prochain. Toute la production des cabines sera alors concentrée à Oskarshamn, dans le Sud-Est de la Suède. Oskarshamn approvisionnera ses trois usines d’assemblage de camions en Europe, à savoir Södertälje en Suède, Zwolle aux Pays-Bas et Angers en France. Cette décision est liée à l’ampleur des investissements - 850 millions de SEK, soit 85 mio. d’EUR - requis pour la construction d’un nouvel atelier de peinture de finition, entièrement robotisé, et d’une nouvelle ligne d’équipement des cabines. Le transport des cabines (entièrement terminées) vers Angers et Zwolle a été confié à Harry Vos et Ewals Cargo Care.
  • Les manutentionnaires de diverses créent une association européenne
    L’association IPON (International Port Operators Network) est désormais opérationnelle. Pour les membres fondateurs il s’agit de grouper des prestataires qui gèrent des terminaux à marchandises diverses. L’association bénéficie déjà d’une forte présence dans quatre pays: Allemagne, France, Espagne et Italie. D’autres membres pourraient la rejoindre à court terme. Ainsi, il devrait y avoir un adhérent belge au sein d’IPON en 2003, mais comme les négociations ne sont pas encore bouclées avec la société souhaitée, les dirigeants de l’association restent muets sur son nom. Enfin, si les membres sont aujourd’hui uniquement européens, rien n’exclut a priori une extension future à d’autres continents.
